Something between the gummy and jelly candies in which you can enjoy without feeling guilty.

Many of us, adults, are stealing gummy candies from our children. We like them, but they also remember us of childhood. So we gladly share this delicacy with our precious little ones. Now we can enjoy this small pleasure without worrying about carbs. Here is the recipe that is worth of trying.

LOW-CARB GUMMY CANDIES – RECIPE

Ingredients that you need:

  • 2 cups (450 ml) juice of squeezed fresh fruits – oranges, lemons, tangerine, strawberry, cherry, kiwi fruit, or other citrus fruit or berry
  • a few drops of liquid stevia
  • 3 1/3 oz. (100 ml) water
  • 1 tablespoon of agar-agar

Preparation:

Squeeze chosen fruit in order to obtain about 2 cups of juice. Then cook this juice until boiling. When boiled, add a few drops of liquid of stevia and agar-agar which have previously dissolved in cold water. Briefly, cook with gently stirring and then pour the liquid into silicone molds. Place them in the fridge for few hours so candies would tighten up.

Notes

If you want the colored candies (like ours), you can drain of each fruit, e.g., apricots, lemons, raspberry, kiwi fruit, about ½ cup (total of 2 cups of juice). Then divide into four dishes and in each pour equal amounts of water in which you previously dissolve the agar – agar (3 1/3 oz. water + agar, and the resulting amount is divided into four parts). It is preferable to pour the liquid into silicone molds using a dropper. It is faster and less messy than when pouring by spoon.

If you do not have agar – agar, you can also use the classic gelatin. Just follow the instructions on the packaging. Vegans and vegetarians won’t use gelatin of animal origin. For them, it’s preferable agar – agar.
