While research for a cure continues, prevention is as important as ever. Once Alzheimer\u2019s sets in, medication can do little do delay its devastating effects. According to recent research, scientists have <span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-126\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-111\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span>found a new link to a higher risk for certain subtypes of Alzheimer\u2019s. In <span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-141\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-115\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span>two different studies published last year, scientists concluded that ovular changes could be used as biomarkers for Alzheimer\u2019s disease. They suggested that noninvasive retinal imaging and visual testing could help with an earlier diagnosis for the health condition.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-114\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"><\/span>Amyloid Beta, Vision Loss And Dementia<\/h3>\n<p>The amyloid beta protein is known to play an important role in both vision loss and dementia. A common hallmark of Alzheimer\u2019s disease is the buildup of amyloid beta in the brain. This plaque build up causes progressive decline in both cognitive and social functioning.
